The incident report describes: shortly after takeoff the aircraft was hit with a “dust devil” on the right side creating a yaw to the right and the loss of lift and a hop in the helicopter. Aircraft became uncontrollable while attempting to set the aircraft back down on the ground. The landing was hard collapsing both skids, damaging the fuselage, separating the tail boom and damaging all five main rotor blades. After the aircraft came to a rest, the fuel fuel shutoff valve and battery switch were turned off and pulled the rotor brake to stop the blades.
Note – the list of damages I mentioned are NOT from a mechanical facility and always recommend a physical review of the salvage.
